Doug and Melissa, whoever those nice folks are, make a lot of wooden things for kids, including an excellent art easel. We bought one about 3 years ago for our granddaughter who is now six. It came with a roll of paper mounted on a dowel that enable the budding artist to pull up a fresh sheet to start each new drawing. You probably already know how kids are with paper towels, pulling six sheets of a roll when just one sheet would have been just fine. Same thing with drawings. The roll of drawing paper rapidly disappeared and a replacement roll from the art store where we bought the easel was very expensive. For little more than the cost of an original replacement roll, this Pacon Easel Roll delivers about five times as much paper. In my book that's a bargain. It's quality paper with a good surface for all kinds of drawing media and I no longer cringe when our granddaughter reels off a couple of yards to draw her princesses, even the ones with the arms coming out of the sides of their heads. Let the drawing begin! We purchased this for our toddler to do her art and coloring on. It has been worth the buy. Upon looking at several different rolls, we found this was the best price for the size and what we were looking for. And the price on this is great, esp considering how much paper is on the roll. We just roll this out on our kitchen table, tape it down and let our daughter go to town with colors, colored pencils, paint and more. It also makes for a great placemat while she eats. It keeps the table clean, but she can also draw and write on it as she is waiting or if she has finished. The paper itself isn't thick. It's standard thickness I would guess. This will be lasting us a very long time. If you have an art-loving child, I suggest purchasing this.High quality paper. We have a drawing table this fits well into. It is rather large, so make sure whatever you're replacing has the clearance for it.I bought this as a replacement for the roll that came with my child's easel. If you only work dry media - pencil, crayon, chalk - it's fine, but this paper does not handle marker or watercolor well at all. Since my child's favorite media is watercolor, this is a fail. The paper immediately wrinkles up and does not absorb the paint evenly. Putting it aside until she develops more of an interest in crayons & pencils.Ordered for my kids who love to do arts and crafts. They love the big paper. They can pull out whatever size they want. We don't have a roller for the paper so we just left it in the box that it came in, cut a slit down one side and pulled the paper through. Box works great instead of having to buy another thing to hold the paper. They have use this whenever they want and a year later we still have paper on our roll! This is good paper but I wish it was a little more paint friendly as my determined painter who was 3 years old painted a nice hole in his picture! Lol! This little guy had his paintbrush going steadily in a continual circle motion, however, I have to note that the other 3 year old and the 4 year old had no issue. So it could be more the user than the product. This easy roll is excellent for kids crafts, and well priced. We do not have an easel, but simply keep a roll with other craft supplies and unroll however much is needed each time. It takes some practice to tear it straight without the easel, but can be done. We also use this to lay down under other crafts to help protect our table from markers, glitter, glue, and all the messy things kids love.I guess my idea of bright white must be a tad different. This stuff wasn't even as white as my printer paper...and I expected it to be brighter than that. But for the purpose of what we are using it for it'll work. The quantity is great. My only other complaint is that when we got it the first inch and a half on either corner was all crinkled and bent over. But again..for what we're using it for that doesn't matter much.It did however arrive early which is nice so we can get this project going.Don't buy this for the glow in the dark gimmick. Our easle is in a fully lit room and when paper is brought into a room with no windows and complete darkness it doesn't glow. The paper quality is good however but for the price I was expecting it to glow like the advertised photos.Buy from ikea or cheaper options as this is was over pricedQuality of paper is excellent and my boys are having tons of fun drawing, painting & colouring on the roll. Great value! It fit our easel perfectlyGreat quality for markers or paint. Good size for easel use or anything really. Love it!premium quality
