First up, this is a great, warm sweater. The quality of manufacture is there and it is very soft to the touch. Compared to some of the sweaters I have bought at Orvis this was a much better deal for the price.Having said that, I had to return mine to get a smaller size. I am 5'6" and 175 lbs. Call it a slight stocky build. I am right in between a medium and a large for normal sizing. I went large on this one and the length of the sleeves and the helm were too big for me. Not just "Oh that is slightly too long but I might shrink in the wash" big, but more like a "Oh heck no, it is my dad's sweater when I am 12" big.Working through the usually stress free return process with Amazon and as soon as I get my refund, I will be buying the medium.
